Decks to Use Again Xyz Summons

Xyz Summoning in Yu-Gi-Oh!
Xyz monsters remain a fan-favorite summoning mechanic in Yu-Gi-Oh! They're usually formed by combining two monsters with matching levels, who become xyz material to fuel your new monster's abilities.
However, some xyz monsters can also be summoned by meeting other conditions, often using a different xyz monster as material—which reign supreme? These are the ten best rank-up xyz monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh!
10. Dark Armed, the Dragon of Annihilation
ATK: 2800
DEF: 1000
Regular xyz summoning Dark Armed isn't impossible, simply needing two or more level 7s, but he's a lot easier to play if you have exactly five dark-attribute monsters in your graveyard, in which case he'll accept any one level 5 or higher dark dragon as material.
Either way, Dark Armed has strong ATK and can once per turn detach a material to target and destroy an opposing card and banish a card from your GY, but he can't attack for the rest of turn—use in the second main phase to avoid the penalty.
9. Stellarknight Constellar Diamond
ATK: 2700
DEF: 2000
You'll rarely opt for Diamond's base summon of three or more light monsters, instead casting him by using a different tellarknight as xyz material; doing so transfers its materials to Diamond. While Diamond has xyz material, neither player can send cards from the deck to the graveyard (great against meta cards like Red-Eyes Fusion), and any card that returns from the graveyard to hand is banished instead, which can really disrupt combos.
As a quick effect, Diamond can detach a material to negate and destroy a dark monster's effect. While this is admittedly dependent on attribute, it at least targets the most abundant one in the game. We should also mention xyz monster "Tellarknight Ptolemaeus", who would have made this list if not for his current ban.
8. Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Blade Dragon/Galaxy-Eyes Cipher X Dragon
ATK: 3200, 4000
DEF: 2800, 3000
You can use a rank 8 Galaxy monster to summon Cipher Blade, who has great ATK, can detach a material to destroy a card, and summons Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon from your graveyard when destroyed.

Meanwhile, you can play Cipher X by using another Cipher Dragon as material, and he wields phenomenal 4000 ATK. He can detach two materials to prevent your opponent from targeting your light monsters with card effects until the end of their turn.
Plus, during your standby (right after his effect's protection ends), Cipher X can return a rank 9 or lower xyz monster from your graveyard to your extra deck, then summon it using himself as material, giving you an easy summon of a new beatstick.
7. Constellar Ptolemy M7
ATK: 2700
DEF: 2000
Ptoelmy's base summon of two level 6 monsters isn't bad, but you can also play him using a different Constellar xyz as material. Doing so prevents you from using Ptolemy's effect for a turn though, and it's a pretty good one, detaching a material to return a card from either player's field or graveyard to the hand. Use it to either remove a threat or retrieve a key card.
6. Number 77: The Seven Sins
ATK: 4000
DEF: 3000
Instead of using two level 12s, Seven Sins can use a rank 10 or 11 dark monster as material, and he's got excellent ATK at 4000. Like Ptolemy, doing so makes you wait a turn to activate his effect, which detaches two materials to banish as many opposing special summoned monsters as possible, then attach one to Seven Sins.
He can put that material to good use by either using the effect again later, or detaching to save himself from one battle or effect destruction.
5. Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star
ATK: 2600
DEF: 2100
Dingirsu needs either two level 8s or an Orcust link monster as material. He provides an amazing shield, detaching a material to protect one or more cards you control from being destroyed!
Plus, when special summoned, Dingirsu can either send an opposing card to the graveyard or attach a banished machine-type monster to himself as material. This effect is better than it looks; it triggers on any special summon, making Dingirsu a great target for Monster Reborn, and since it doesn't target or destroy, it gets around pesky defends on cards like Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon.
4. Ebon Illusion Magician
ATK: 2500
DEF: 2100
Two levels 7s isn't hard considering the pendulum summoning and Dark Magician tricks available, but you can also field Ebon by using a rank 6 spellcaster as material. While Ebon's ATK is only decent at 2500, he can once per turn detach a material to summon a normal spellcaster from your deck, and when a normal monster attacks, he can target and banish a card on the field, offering swarming and removal in one.
3. Cyber Dragon Infinity
ATK: 2100
DEF: 1600
You'll almost never play Infinity using three level 6 light machines; instead, he can use Cyber Dragon Nova (a rank five) as material. While his base ATK is low, Infinity gains 200 per material he has, and can once per turn attach a face-up attack-position monster from anywhere on the field to himself.
More than that, he can detach a material on either player's turn to negate and destroy an activating card, making Infinity the shield that protects a setup Cyber Dragon board.
2. Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal
ATK: 2500
DEF: 2800
Limited (one copy per deck) as of this writing, Beatrice takes two level 6s as material, but can also be summoned by sending a Burning Abyss from your hand to the graveyard (where they want to be anyway) and using a Dante monster you control as material.
But even non-Abyss decks like Beatrice for her amazing quick effect, detaching a material to send a card from your deck to the graveyard. This works amazing in decks like Drytons, which send Eva to find fairy-type cards, or Phantom Knight builds. Plus, when destroyed and sent to your graveyard, Beatrice summons a Burning Abyss from your extra deck and ignores its summoning conditions.
1. Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS—Sky Thunder
ATK: 3000
DEF: 3000
Forget Zeus's base summon of two level 12s; you'll play him with his other effect, using any xyz monster as material in your second main phase as long as an xyz monster battled that turn! You don't even have to win the fight; you can attack a stronger defense-position monster, take a small bit of damage, and meet the condition.
Not only does Zeus have 3000 ATK/DEF, he can attach a material from your hand, deck, or extra deck to himself once per turn when another of your cards is destroyed. Even better, as a quick effect he detaches two to send all other cards on the field to the graveyard! That's right, a nuke on a stick that doesn't target or destroy and lets you keep Zeus.
Xyz-summoning Cards in Yu-Gi-Oh!
Today we saw the best monsters with built-in alternate summons, but don't forget effects that gimmick xyz cards. The Rank-Up spells provide many ways to play powerful beatsticks, and monsters like Number 27: Dreadnought Dreadnoid can rank-up after meeting certain conditions.
We'll tackle these cards another day, but for now, vote for your favorite xyz monster and I'll see you at our next YGO! countdown!
